Climate and World goals
At The Buddha Bowl Project, we have taken a look at the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and found out which of them are relevant for us to work with in our daily operations and where we can make a difference. Our focus is on these 4 goals:
Goal 3: Health and well-being - to ensure a healthy life for all and promote well-being for all age groups. TBBP is a lifestyle project focusing on physical and mental health and our mission is to make healthy choices easier in an often busy everyday life.
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production - By reducing food waste, which we do by producing soup from vegetable scraps that we give to socially disadvantaged citizens via Café Parasollen and Blue Cross, as well as recycling the waste that cannot be avoided via DAKA Refood, we try every day to limit the impact on resources and contribute our part to responsible consumption and production.
Goal 13: Climate action - By exclusively using bioplastics - A-PET, R-PET, PET and compostable - as well as FSC certified packaging and bringing our products out in electric cars, we try to contribute to rapid action to combat climate change and its consequences.
Goal 15: Life on land - We only use organic and pesticide-free fruits and vegetables that have the least possible impact on the climate. In addition, we are a partner with Naturfonden, whose purpose is to purchase, protect and restore nature throughout Denmark.
"The swift and colorful kingfisher swoops over the springs. When the marsh marigold orchid blooms in July, you can enjoy its peppermint-striped lip. Rare mosses and the purple-bordered firefly will find a new home. Welcome to Villestrup Enge. Here, The Buddha Bowl Project's 417 square meters will now be allowed to be nature forever.
We have purchased 75 hectares of former fields and meadows south of Rold Skov. It will now be nature forever. Restoring nature here will save the climate several hundred tons of CO2 every year."
The Buddha Bowl Project has been lucky enough to get through the eye of the needle and become part of GCO - Green Circular Transition under the Region of Southern Denmark - Read more about the process here.
